Creative Journey
楽
Lindsey studied at Falmouth School of Art, where a multidisciplinary Foundation Course allowed her to experience working in a variety of creative techniques. She went on to specialise in Woven Textile Design at Loughborough College of Art and Design gaining a First Class Honours Degree. Her textile designs have been exhibited and sold in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
Born out of a consistent love of working with tactile materials, Lindsey has chosen to broaden her creative practice to encompass the ceramic medium. Her raku fired ceramics are displayed in the Lighthouse Gallery, Penzance. She also regularly exhibits at Fresh Art Fair in Cheltenham, and Affordable Art Fairs in London and Bristol.
“The natural world is a constant source of inspiration for me. In a world of ever increasing distractions, there is something so calming and restorative about just being in the living landscape and taking time to bathe in nature’s bounty; to roam the fields and shores in search of creative sparks. I have always loved to work with my hands and for as long as I can remember I have enjoyed creating to fill my world with colour, pattern, and texture. I infuse my work with elements and observations from nature that resonate and engage my imagination. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to follow my creativity through education. Since then I have continued to follow my creative path through life, embracing the endlessly versatile medium of clay to unite my skills with a love for working with three dimensional tactile materials”.
You can find my work at the Lighthouse Gallery | Penzance, Cornwall
